Visitors to this unique and picturesque Village step back into the story of Ohio’s heritage and are immersed in living history. The restored 1830’s port town is a stage for costumed interpreters and crafters portraying the life of those who lived and worked here.
Food, drink and dining can be found at either Medbery Cafe, Uncorked or the Warehouse Steak n’ Stein located in the center of the Village. The shops of Roscoe Village offer a variety of unique gifts and several Ohio handcrafted items. Beautiful gardens and restored Greek revival architecture attract visitors from all over Ohio.
Guests boarding the Monticello III can relax on the horse-drawn canal boat, while listening to stories of life on the Ohio Erie canal as relayed by the Captain. Whatever path may be taken at Roscoe Village leads visitors to a day to remember.

We thoroughly enjoyed our first time visit here. You can tell the people take great pride in keeping the village clean and enjoy talking with visitors. We went into as many stores as time would allow. We had a delicious sandwich at Lock 27, purchased several items in the one room schoolhouse (all made locally), enjoyed the short film in the main building, made a purchase in the Cottage Gate, walked the beautiful tree-lined streets, talked with Mindy in the ‘flag store’ (aka Visitor Center)…so many places to see, so little time. Hope to get back one day for the canal ride!
We had a wonderful visit! My husband and I love all of the history and enjoy learning about the past. Most of the guide’s were very engaging and all were happy to explain things to our five year old. I was even shown how to spin wool using a drop spindle, which I was able to purchase at the visitors center. My husband got a courting candle and my kiddo didn’t know what to do in the candy store. I highly recommend spending the day here and taking a ride on the canal boat.
My husband and I had a wonderful time at the Dulcimer Festival. Enjoyed all the musicians. Loved listening to the Vanderveer Brothers, Bing Futch, Colin Beasley and so many more. It was our first time to Roscoe Village. Love the history and how the people take pride in their little village. The canal ride was wonderful with lots of informative history. We plan on coming back. We stayed at Roscoe Motor Inn and it is not the Hilton but the rooms were clean and the owner is super friendly. The price was right. We enjoyed our stay.
