When you come to visit Amish Country, Ohio you will always have plenty of things to do Monday through Saturday. But what about Sunday? Sunday is considered a day of rest for the Amish and Mennonites, and since most of the shop and store owners are Amish or Mennonite you will most likely find downtown Berlin looking like a ghost town on Sunday. I have just the plan for a lazy Sunday afternoon.<\/p>\n

A great place to join a Mennonite Church service is at\u00a0Gospel Haven Church.<\/a>\u00a0Sunday school starts at 9:30 and regular services start at 10:30. They would love to have you join them!<\/p>\n

With all the downtown shops closed in Berlin there are still plenty of places open if you know where to find them. For lunch you can grab a pizza at\u00a0East of Chicago,\u00a0<\/a>or you can go to\u00a0La Palma Mexican Grill\u00a0<\/a>for some great chicken fajitas.<\/p>\n

If you would like some exercise, a great place for a jog or bike ride is the Holmes County Trail, which runs over 20 miles through beautiful Amish Country. You can find a few entrances to the trail: by the Walmart parking lot in Millersburg, in Killbuck, beside Nana’s Kitchen on State Route 83, and down the road from Fredericksburg Elementary School.<\/p>\n

If you are still in the mood to shop then there are plenty of options located to the south and north of Holmes County. Roscoe Village<\/a> is an old historical town filled with lots of shopping and places to eat. Canton is located about 45 minutes north of Berlin and also has a large selection of stores, including a mall.<\/p>\n
