Places To Explore In Wooster, Ohio
I enjoy the history Wayne County, has to offer as well as the selection of shopping that is available. It is always fun exploring to old restaurants, coffee shops, and old stores nestled in the historical buildings along the streets of downtown Wooster. Of coarse, if I need a new pair of shoes or some blue jeans then the outlet stores are a short ten minute drive away.
Downtown Wooster
You can feel the history in the old brick walls that enclose the stores in downtown Wooster. The shop owners do a great job preserving the historical culture of this town. The Olde Jaol Steakhouse is a restaurant built inside the old jail of Wooster where patrons can enjoy the romantic, candle light atmosphere as they dine in the former prison cells covered with the original brick and stone. There are plenty of cozy coffee shops hiding in the nooks of this town. Sure House Coffee and Templeton’s Scottish Bakery & Coffee offer great coffee drinks as well as a unique culture that can be appreciated by those who enjoy visiting a variety of coffee shops. For someone who likes to digest lots of books, the trip to downtown Wooster would not be complete without visiting Books In Stock. This hole-in-the-wall place is a literature treasure trove with two stories full of used books. Because of the culture that has been so well preserved by the local businesses it is hard not to appreciate the history of Downtown Wooster and something you won’t want to miss.
Uptown Wooster
You will find plenty of shopping, places to eat, and things to do in Uptown Wooster. For someone who enjoys a modern form of shopping then the outlet stores in Wooster are a great place to get started. There are plenty of clothing stores such as Kohl’s and Dick’s Sporting Goods. There is also a wide selection of shoe stores like Famous Footwear and Shoe Department. Ready for lunch or supper? The near by Panera Bread is one of the best fast food restaurants in town. For supper you will enjoy going to Wild Ginger, Tumbleweed Grill, or LongHorn Steakhouse. If you want something fun to do after supper then Wayne Lanes and Acres of Fun are both about five minutes away. With lots of places to shop, eat, and have fun; Uptown Wooster is a great place to enjoy a night on the town.
